1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Insect Lens, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be legally able to enter this agreement or use the App with permission of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Licence and acceptable use
Async Digital grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App under these Terms. You may not misuse the App, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, reverse engineer it except where law permits, infringe others’ rights, or submit unlawful or harmful material.
3. Identification limitations
Insect Lens uses automated image analysis and can be wrong. Results are likely matches based on visible information, not expert taxonomic confirmation. Image quality, life stage, look-alike species and geographic variation can affect accuracy. Do not handle, consume, relocate or destroy an organism solely because of an App result.
4. Health and safety
Bite, sting, toxicity and first-aid information is general education—not medical diagnosis, treatment or emergency advice. Seek qualified medical advice for health decisions. Contact local emergency services immediately for severe symptoms or a suspected emergency. The App does not replace poison control, medical professionals or local public-health guidance.
5. Your content
You retain responsibility for images and other content you use with the App. You confirm that you have the right to capture, submit, save and share that content. Avoid photographs containing identifiable people or private information. You grant us and our service providers the limited rights needed to process a submitted image and return the requested identification.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Paid products may unlock premium features. Prices, billing periods and any trial terms are shown before purchase. Google Play processes Android payments. Recurring subscriptions renew unless cancelled through Google Play before renewal, subject to the purchase terms and applicable law. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
7. Third-party services
AI analysis, backend configuration, purchases and distribution may rely on third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond what applicable law requires.
8. Availability and disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy, identification of every species, permanent preservation of local collection data, or suitability for a particular scientific, medical, pest-control or legal purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Async Digital will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits or business arising from use of the App. Rights and liabilities that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
10. Changes and termination
We may update the App or these Terms, change or discontinue features, or suspend access where reasonably necessary. You may stop using the App at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
